Memorable Monday #1

February 20, 2012 General 6

This is my first time participating in Memorable Monday, a meme hosted by Mari at Escape in a Book.  This meme is a way of sharing quotes from books you are currently reading and that have stayed with you in some way.  Click on the button above to learn how to participate!

The quote I’ve chosen is from Molly Harper’s “Nice Girls Don’t have Fangs.”  Now, this quote is not meaningful, profound or thought-provoking.  Instead, it is funny, silly, and perfectly captures the sense of humor found throughout the book – one of the primary reasons I enjoyed reading it.

From Nice Girls Don’t Have Fangs:

“It has everything to do with me!” he shouted, so loudly that I felt the echo bouncing around in my skull.  “I am your sire.  I am to guide you through your first days as a vampire.  Your first feeding is a rite of passage, a sacrament.  It will not be wasted on some hormone driven frenzy.  This is why I wanted you to feed from me.”

“I will not drink it in a house, I will not drink it with a mouse.  I will not drink it here or there, I will not drink it anywhere,” I wheezed, hoping I was able to communicate adequate sarcasm through the crippling belly cramps.

“Did you just quote Green Eggs and Ham?”

I love the idea of quoting Dr. Seuss to a 154 year old vampire.

Tell me a quote that’s stayed with you!

I did not not that was taken from a Dr. Seuss book, but that is because those books aren’t that well known here in Norway 😉 But I agree the quote is fun and there were several fun moments in that book.

So nice to have you on board for Memorable Monday 🙂

Yay! While I feel horrible to have come between you and your coffee, the book is funny! I plan to post a review this week. I think you’ll have fun with it. And get some coffee tomorrow…while reading your book!
