The Miss Education of Dr. Exeter
An erotic tale of love and transmogrification.
Right from book one, The Seduction of Phaeton Black, I knew that one day I would write Dr. Exeter and Mia’s love story. And there was a reason I nicknamed Dr. Exeter’s ward, Mia, for I knew her complication would be that she is a shapeshifter by destiny.
Those of you who have read The Seduction of Phaeton Black may recall Dr. Exeter’s first appearance in chapter two––he appears on a roof top in Savoy Row. And as the mystery progresses, Exeter becomes a kind of metaphysically endowed Dr. Watson to Phaeton’s paranormal investigator.
In book one, Anatolia Chadwick (Mia) is Dr. Exeter’s precocious ward, and newly grown into a beautiful young lady. Mia shows a few signs of her infatuation with Exeter, but for the most part, she plays the role of the doctor’s vivacious charge, who is about to attend classes at university. At this point there isn’t even a hint about her extraordinary gifts or powers. In fact, Mia often comes off as the only straight one in an odd collection of misanthropes and misfits.
It is not until book two, The Moonstone and Miss Jones, when readers begin to get a hint about Mia’s coming of age issues––including a dark and terrifying event that scares Mia and greatly affects Dr. Exeter. Nightshade bodyguards, Jersey Blood and Valentine are the first to offer a clue as to what is going on. Mia may well be a shifter of some sort––but what kind of shifter? And to what purpose?
From the very beginning of the series, I had in mind a sleek, black panther for Mia. I loved the idea of Mia being a strong feline creature. The untamable, sensual nature of cats also appealed to me, as I wanted this story to be mysterious, and darkly erotic. As Mia’s wilder nature intrudes upon their lives, Exeter’s first concern is to help his ward gain some semblance of control, for she is plagued by shifts––some of them unexpected and sudden, while others take hours to manifest and feature a number of uncomfortable symptoms––including the manifestation of unseemly carnal desires.
As book three opens, Mia has made startling advances toward Dr. Exeter, and he quite at his wit’s end. He is torn between his protective feelings for her, and his growing attraction to the desirable young woman she has become. And to make matters worse, the disturbing cure means teaching Mia how to control the terrifying transitions by means of sexual release.
Meanwhile…Phaeton is lost in the Outremer––an alternate world that is unraveling, whether it be London or…Paris. And there is something about Paris in the fall that brings out the devil in Dr. Exeter, and the beast in mild-mannered Mia. With physical reality unraveling on both sides of the cosmic rift, the good doctor must extract Phaeton Black from the clutches of a diabolical techno-wizard—or both he and Phaeton could lose the women they love to love…forever.
Needless to say, I had a terrific time writing this book, and I do hope you all enjoy the Miss Education of Dr. Exeter. An erotic tale of love and transmogrification.

Jillian Stone’s Paranormal Investigator Series is sexy, bawdy, and fun! Take a look at my review for book one and then check out book three – and don’t forget to enter the giveaway at the end of the post!
Plunge deeper into the curious world of the deadly Nightshades.
The Moonstone is having a destabilizing effect on the time/space membrane leaving Phaeton trapped in a parallel mirror world where everything is opposite or upside down, yet oddly the same. He is held captive by Domina Valour and tested sorely in this darkly sensual third episode of the Phaeton Black series.
Gaspar Sinclair can’t go after Phaeton. His physical body is unraveling before everyone’s eyes. America Jones is large with child, but only she has the preternatural ability to locate Phaeton and bring him back. And Doctor Exeter’s beautiful charge, Mia, has her claws in him. Quite literally.
To accomplish Phaeton’s rescue, the doctor must let loose forces he hasn’t the foggiest clue how to control, including his attraction to Mia.
While in the dimension of magnetic opposites, the doctor and Miss Jones attempt to reverse polarity to retrieve Phaeton and stop Gaspar from unraveling. Can America and Phaeton find a way to return together, or will this final test rip them apart forever?
